The following was forwarded to me from a friend in email and I was so surprised that I went out and found both of the mentioned books just to make sure it wasn't baloney. Then I went to SNOPES.COM just to verify that this was there. I STRONGLY suggest that you do likewise and then go to SNOPES just to see what is actually happening.

Just go to any reliable website e.g. Snopes.com or truthorfiction.com and you will see the truth. Many people don't want to know the truth - either because they can't make money from it or they want to foward they jaded and uneducated thoughts or they simply have nothing else to do. Been Franklin -- read about the real Ben Franklin (The First American). your no Ben Franklin!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I have never claimed to be Ben Franklin. He was a truely great American whom I admired. Secondly Snopes and truth or fiction are not as dependable as you think. If you had read everything you Should remember that I stated that I myself went to snopes. The problem, and of course this is my own humble opinion, is that brainwashed mindless liberals such as you apparently seem to be fail to see the truth buried within the rhetoric. Also you obviously did not read the books. I have. Just as I have read all 2000+ page of Obama's Affordable health Care bill. It ain't affordable and it ain't health care as we know it, and most of all it is not constitutional.
ReplyDeleteWhat astounds me more than anything else is the fact that you and all of those like you have no real defense for this guy. You fail to understand that his antics and everything he does is not only going to affect conservatives it will also affect you liberals.
When you fail or cannot defend him then you resort to name calling and acusing people like me of being stupid, a rabid liar, or a racist.
Open your eyes and look at his record and quit trying to blame it all on Bush, Reagan, or some one else. The shame of it is that this cheeky bastard even has the balls to threaten the Supreme Court in an off handed way in order to try and save what he knows is inevitably struck down as unconstitutional. Yet there is a better than even chance he'll win the next election and then you'll get a taste of his true colors.

I find it fascinating, as well as deeply disturbing, that liberals (in the new, not historical sense) are the worst offenders in so far as liars and racists are concerned. Consider that Obama took an oath to defend the Constitution, yet he has openly refused to enforce laws he does not like namely, DOMA and illegal immigration. Then consider that he has yet to even criticize a single black for attacking whites in the aftermath of the Zimmerman/Travon tragedy, but he wastes no time calling law enforcement stupid or calling whites racist when they have not even broken the law. Then consider it was a Republican who freed the slaves yet the democrats act like they are the champions of liberty when all they do is keep blacks on a virtual plantation by virtue of buying their votes in return for money, which in reality is bribery.
So when considering facts, which liberals seem unable to do, it is clear that liberals are the worst liars and biggest racists, not conservatives.

ReplyDeleteI received the email with the Quotes from Obama via email today and was doing my research (as I try not to pass on fiction as fact). I didn’t buy the books as I don’t care for the Author.
Here is the message I passed on to my readers:
It is a mix of true and false (mostly true)… But it speaks to underlying issues (prejudice) within the character of the person.

I haven't read either of the books these quotes are taken from in their entirety, but I read the explanations on snopes and others fact-checking sites that put the quotes in context, and it seems that the context is not that of a racist but somebody dealing with growing up in a mixed-race environment. It would appear then that the email thread is being used not to give an honest picture of Obama but to cherry pick quotes or even reword sections of his books to give a distorted and incorrect image of Obama.

I hate Snopes (consider the source, their background and those who back them...if you don't know, as a conservative you need to find out. As a Christian, you'd be well advised to never use the site or support Mikkelsons in any way at all.) Read about BHO's upbringing and mentors: all socialist, or Marxist, or Communist, or godless (mom, dad, grandparents, Frank Marshall Davis) and peers, acquaintances (Bill Ayers, etc.), supporters (Geo. Soros.) Pastor: Jeremiah Wright - who once dabbled in Islam and finally settled in as a Black Liberation Theologist (sorry, not "Christian," but it's a good cover.) BHO claims a Christian conversion, but backs anti-Christian measures and platforms. The quotes in the e-mail, per TorF, are sometimes incorrect or out of context, but if you think this man (BHO) is not a racist - you're being extremely foolish. It remains to be seen exactly WHAT he is: my personal belief is that he's hiding a great deal in order to be elected (but he's a politician, after all). He simply is not the man to lead us again for the next 4 years...not because of his background, color, or what-have-you. It's because his vision for America is SO contrary to the beliefs of the Founders, and under his "guidance" from 2008-2012, the USA has almost TANKED. We need a new leader, period.
