Batman and the 2nd Amendment

With the senseless attack on the theater in Aurora, Colorado, we once again have seen what makes America and its people so great. We’ve seen Americans come together to offer their support, both spiritually and financially to the victims and their families in there time of need. Isn’t it odd that we see these things happening only in America? We didn’t see the people of Norway come together in the same way when the youth camp was attacked and so many killed by that nut job. The victims were more or less left to depend upon the government and upon each other to recover from that senseless attack. Perhaps our inherent generosity as Americans is what makes us the greatest nation on the planet.

Yet despite our generosity deep down, somewhere within the political machine that is so prevalent in our nation there are the beginnings of a quiet rumbling, a rumbling that once again sees an opportunity and a means, to attempt an attack upon our Constitutional right to “bear arms.” Already the media and certain liberal groups are gearing up for another attack. Pressure is quietly being brought to bear upon both Romney and Obama to make gun control an issue in their campaigns. It is an issue designed to divert attention away from the real issues of this election and anger the people into accepting what they do not want to accept.
How so, you might ask. The answer to that question is this: On one hand, you have a President seeking re-election, who has already proven his willingness to violate the Constitution of the United States. On the other, you have a Candidate who is willing to fix the mistakes of his opponent and adhere to the Constitution. The problem is that the President is slowly losing his foothold upon the liberals who will vote him back into office and he needs something to bring them back to him. As for Romney, he is caught in a difficult situation simply because if he stands for gun control he’s already lost the conservative vote. If he stands for the second amendment (as he should) he appears to the undecided voters as being insensitive to the victims of Aurora and is ignoring the fact that if gun control (i.e. the complete removal from the American people the right to bear arms) were in place, this heinous crime would never have been committed.
I submit to you the following question, if someone, anyone, in that theater had been in procession of a gun, would he or she been able to stop this animal before he was able to increase the body count? Would this person have been able to prevent a six-year girl from being shot in the throat? To be sure, there are many variables to this question, but it is a question that must be asked.
Only law-abiding citizens would adhere to ant gun control laws they were forced to live with. However, history has shown that it is the criminal and the madman who will find a way to arm themselves, knowing that with a weapon there is no one out there to oppose him.
Whatever the outcome of this upcoming election, we as Americans must ensure that we as Americans have the ability to oppose those who would disarm us and if needs be, enforce our will upon a government that our forefathers knew would one day go out of control. This is why the Second Amendment was written into the Constitution.

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Be vigilant …..
