Shit Creek....

After watching the political scene for a while, I have come to the conclusion that as a nation we are basically fucked. I say this for several reasons.

After reviewing the available candidates, watching everybody drop out and seeing who’s left, I find that the available candidates are not even suitable for the position of dogcatcher little loan president of the United States of America.

Trump is turned out to be nothing more than a clown spewing what an angry public wants to hear, yet at the same time he has absolutely no inkling as to foreign policy or how to deal with a group of nations that would gladly stick a knife between our ribs as they accept foreign aid from us. His statement that he would build a wall along the southern border and have the Mexicans pay for it, was probably one of the most ridiculous statements ever made by a would be politician. Yet at the same time he seems to be gaining the prerequisite delegates that could very well elect him as president of this country. My one and only hope is that somehow the Republican convention becomes contested and a vote is called of the delegates that could for the most part resolve the Trump issue.

Ted Cruz on the other hand, strikes me as a bit of an enigma simply because he reminds me by both his looks and his rhetoric of an evil Lyndon B. Johnson. While I believe in God, it strikes me that his fervent belief could become a hindrance to the political landscape and to the daily lives of the people of the United States. My experience with born-again Christians, has been less than satisfactory, simply because the idea of being a born-again Christian conflicts with what I would call a born-again Christian. My own personal experience says that unless you believe exactly the way they do they will stab you in the back every time. I have no desire for the United States to suddenly become a theocracy.

At this stage of the game it is beginning to look as though the Republican race is between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump, and I’m beginning to feel that neither would be good for this country.

With regards to the Democratic side of things, Hillary Clinton has already proven herself to be a liar, and an individual who has her own personal agenda. And while we as a people Would Hope That Our President Would Be a Nice Person it is become apparent over the years that Hillary represents nothing more than the bitch from hell. Every time that I have watched her in the public eye at rallies and meetings with her constituents I get the distinct impression that she is only their rubbing elbows with these people because she has to. She reminds me of the wealthy dowager who looks down upon the poor as being nothing less than vermin that needs to be exterminated.

As for Bernie Sanders, he is an avowed socialist and perhaps the most honest of all the candidates because he has plainly stated that he will raise taxes that he will do everything within his power to see to it that there is a certain financial equality to the masses. Unfortunately what Bernie does not understand is that the United States is a capitalist country and that only through capitalism can this country regain its position of greatness within the world.

Frankly, it is frightening to think of what will happen to this nation should anyone of these candidates be elected as president of the United States. Trump is proven that he is not a nice person countless times on his reality TV shows (which reminds me of those stupid parity movies where the president goes on television and raises funds for the country), Hillary has proven that she is a liar by both her email fiasco, and what took place with the Benghazi affair. Her tenure as Secretary of State was less than spectacular. Cruz, as I have said before is an enigma since he has stood for conservative ideas and issues yet at the same time he has also voted for liberal issues because he felt it was right. As it turns out the liberal issues have affected the people of this country in such a manner that it is difficult for us to tell for sure what his stance is.

I don’t think I have to go into much detail with regards to Bernie Sanders, simply because he is what he is and has made no bones about it. One thing I would point out about Mr. Sanders is that if he is elected the old fart won’t live to see the completion of his term in office.

I don’t have any real solutions to the problem, but I will say we have a problem that we must resolve as quickly as we possibly can. I would write an open letter to Paul Ryan begging him to throw his hat in the ring as he seems to be the only viable candidate that can do this nation some good. But he has already made it very clear that he will not run for president. I can only hope that he will change his mind on this issue if not we are up Shit Creek without a paddle.
